what is auverse?
auverse is a project created by alex to help overcome her fear of being seen and to try something new by showcasing some of her works online. this mainly includes self portraits, videos, and graphic designs.
growing up, alex has always been shy. aside from her in-real-life friends, she finds it hard to show her face to anyone, let alone interact with anyone online. she has always preferred working behind the camera and during the post-production. she then made it into a challenge to build her self esteem through a series of photoshoots, drawing inspiration from different k-pop groups.
in the year 2023, she is slowly opening its doors to everyone who are willing to take part in this journey.

Alex is a self-taught aspiring designer based in the Philippines. Most of her works are focused on doing portraits that are inspired by her love for K-pop.
She mainly utilizes her camera along with Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere Pro for most of her works. She also really enjoys doing cosplay and playing Roblox on her free time.

bittersweet
—seventeen members mingyu and wonwoo released a duet song called “bittersweet”. the song tells a story of choosing between love and friendship, while the music video is up for debate, it stars the two members who are seemingly in love with the same person, but chose their friendship over the said matter.
the photoset however shows the dilemma of having an unrequited love for someone who can never reciprocate the feelings as they also harbor the same unrequited love but for someone else.

teen, age
—self insert concept photos based off of Seventeen’s 2nd album “Teen, Age” released last November 6, 2017.

an ode lie version
—the music video of Seventeen’s song called “Fear” really made alex giddy with all the versatile shots, this scene of joshua struck out the most. from the way the glitters fell on the member’s face to the lighting and framing, it was perfect.
while the original album had five versions, namely begin, the poet, hope, truth, and real. alex decided to give her take on making a new version called “lie” which draws inspiration from a futuristic and dystopian world.

season's greetings 2022
—when her favorite group Seventeen released their annual season’s greetings merch, alex was thrilled to see the concept that they went with that she decided to recreate the layout of the calendar page.

black eye
—vernon of seventeen released his mixtape titled "black eye", the song was well received among fans and alex as someone who enjoyed listening to pop punk rock genre as a kid is not an exemption for that. it was somewhat what you would call a blast from the past.
this set is also the first time she experimented with using another app called "snow", she made a ready to use filter for everyone who would like to cop the same photo as vernon.

—alex decided to further her scope when it comes to taking inspirations, and the first girl group concept photos to be added on the list is none other than ive! love dive really made its way to the general public's heart, even when the teaser photos were first released, it really piqued alex's interest that even after almost several months the photos were still on top of her "must recreate list". bonus! a filter is also available for the public to use!

—lately, alex has been into this kpop group called new jeans.
the music video of ‘ditto’ consists of videos taken by the girl named ban heesoo where she was shows her friends having fun.
this inspired alex to recreate the color grading of the video by using some of her stock clips taken when she was still in college.

—college was a hell of a ride for alex and she will surely miss it. during her last days at school, she decided to document everything and put it in a music video. something she can look back to whenever she misses life in college.
baste tv comeback teaser
—one of the main projects she had when she was still an intern was to create a dynamic fifteen second teaser for the much awaited comeback of the school broadcasting channel. it should highlight which shows they are planning to revive but also let the viewers know that there’s something new they should look forward to.

——on her last year of college, alex was assigned to spearhead a new show that baste tv was planning to release. she was given the creative freedom to build the foundation of it.
she created this opening billboard by
utilizing the programs that were only available to her, photoshop and premiere pro. by creating the shapes using ps, she would then export each element one by one and assemble them in premiere pro.

—when asked to create a simple animated lower third, it really intimidated alex a lot as she didn’t really have the program and equipment to create an animated project. but she tried doing the task with using what is currently available (photoshop and premiere pro) and managed to create one anyway.

it's always the dumb one podcast
—alex always wanted to try and have her own podcast. one night of december 2020, she called her friends and asked them they'd like to be a part of it, she pitched her ideas, concepts, and even graphics which they all liked, hence the creation of iatdo. the podcast is available to listen to on all podcast platforms such as spotify, apple podcast, and anchor.

“We are quick to downplay negative emotions because no one wants to go down that lane and it’s understandable. However trying to stay positive when you’re in a negative position makes you suppress all your feelings, these negativities will find their way out one way or another and hey, you may be invalidating yourself like that. Happiness is not the only thing that should be appreciated among the long span of various human emotions. Vulnerability is what makes us humans, it’s what makes us beautiful.”
She wanted to showcase humans in their most vulnerable point but still maintaining the boldness they have. Pictures are taken during the thinking part, execution and after math.Various lightings shall be used to set the mood in each photo. Red to signify the strong emotions one is feeling at the moment. Shades of purple, for the sensitivity of the person. While the whites are the coldness and emptiness.
the yearbook
—the yearbook is project she started which will feature her friends' portraits in an american yearbook style photobooth pictures. each set will include a quote or something like a "class title" that they have decided to go with.
this project is a playful jab at their graduation pictures that they have paid for a really high price but is yet to be given to them even after graduating for a year already.
ūnit.alx prototype
In September, Alex ventured into doing hardware art by creating her own functional mechagear headset out of Gundam parts. This project was inspired by an artist named Yun Mago, who she met in December of 2022.
The project is originally called unknown夢/unknown dream prototype.01 of 03, it is a part of a wearable installation that she has been working on. It was created to represent ūnit.alx's desire and will to venture and explore art in different forms. She has always thought of art as something she wasn't blessed with, something intimidating, a subject she could never touch on, and yet here she is trying to expand her scope on how to do art. Still she believes she isn't that much
knowledgeable about it yet, but she clearly enjoys the process of doing art in various forms.
As of now the second part has been released as well, in the form of a mecha-mask. Both pieces were worn last December 1, 2023 during Anifair. The last piece of the installation is yet to be made but is expected to be unveiled in the year 2024.
